| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. Each time the vehicle was placed into park, the parking brake would activate on its own. The failure also occurred when the vehicle was started. To deactivate the parking brake, the contact had to shift the vehicle into neutral and depress the brake pedal multiple times. On one occasion, while in a parking lot, the parking brake activated automatically without warning. While the vehicle was in motion, the wheels seized abruptly and the parking brake activated on its own. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 89,000. |
