Description of the problem	Approximately 1 year after purchasing my vehicle (roughly 2017) while driving on the highway my fan control knob started spinning freely, it still worked but concerned i called my dealership who all but dismissed the complaint. A few months later the knob started working intermittently and would on occasion cut off the fan if i were to hit a bump. By the end of 2019 the knob had completely stopped working. I had held off on getting it repaired as it is an expensive fix and after doing quite a lot of research i discovered it is an extremely common issue with my make and model car. It poses a serious hazard as where i live it is extremely humid and cold during the winter months and no amount of wiping and cleaning the windshield gets rid of all of the fog meaning it poses a real threat by limiting visibility.
