Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owned a 2013 hyundai veloster. While the contact's daughter was driving approximately 60 mph, thick black smoke emerged from the engine compartment. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. The police was present, but not the fire department. There were no injuries. The insurance company deemed the vehicle destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a third party to conduct an investigation. The results were not disclosed to the contact. The dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that there were no recalls for her vehicle; however, the turbo model was under recall. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. |
