| Description of the problem | Our car was serviced by southwest hyundai dealer in albuquerque on 7/6, and although it was idling rough, they told us our car was safe to continue our vacation to co. The next morning, 30 miles later on i 25 we were traveling the speed limit, and a clanking noise started and smoke poured out from under the hood... We pulled over immediately. Billows of smoke. We called 911 and road assistance. Santa fe fire dept forced hood open and flooded the engine. Car was towed to sante fe hyundai fiesta. Our insurance company inspected and said the car was totaled. Hyundai corporate will be inspecting the car to try and determine cause. According to geico adjuster, that may not be possible. Everything melted. |
