Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2014 hyundai sonata. While driving 80 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Also, the rpms increased and the service engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over, turned it off and restarted it, shifted into drive, and the vehicle operated normally. When the failure occurred, the gear shifter was not registering a position such as drive or park. At times, the vehicle fails to downshift. The contact called drivetime used cars (8341 indiana ave, riverside, ca 92504, (951) 353-2277) where she recently purchased the vehicle and was advised to take the vehicle to pep boys in san bernardino, ca where it was awaiting diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
