Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2013 hyundai sonata. While driving 25 mph, the contact heard a knocking noise in the engine that became louder when the contact accelerated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who found that there was no oil in the engine. Oil was added to the engine and the vehicle was taken to colonial hyundai (4423 lincoln hwy, downingtown, pa 19335) where it was diagnosed that there was an unknown failure within the engine. The failure caused the engine to make a tapping noise and lose oil excessively. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to colonial hyundai where the dealer heard a clicking noise and replaced the pcv valve, but the failure recurred. Colonial hyundai also stated that a recall would be released and the contact would be provided with a new engine. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v226000 (engine). Colonial hyundai stated that the vehicle passed the recall inspection and did not need a new engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the contact should follow up with the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 114,629.
