| Description of the problem | I have now had two major issues with my hybrid. The first was 5 months ago. My husband was driving the car on the interstate, when all of the sudden he lost power and the engen started smoking and make horrible noises. We had a rod thrown through the engine and had to replace it ($3200). Then on friday morning i was driving to work on the interstate when i lost all acceleration and the hybrid warning system started going off. I had my mechanic look at it and he told me i will need to replace my transmission, he also said this is a know problem with the hyundai sonata hybrids. It is about a $4000 replacement. Please help those of us that put our trust in this vehicle and are now paying for it. |
