| Description of the problem | I noticed the brake lights were still on after the car was parked and turned off in the garage. On further inspection the brake pedal switch stopper had disintegrated and was no longer depressing the switch. The vehicle could shift out of gear without pressing the brake. I did not feel safe driving the vehicle until this was repaired. This was supposedly replaced in 2016 under a recall for a similar failure. I drove a separate vehicle to obtain a replacement part and the problem is now fixed. There was no warning before failure. |
