| Description of the problem | 2012 sonata inconsistently will display "shift to p" when trying to turn the vehicle off. The car is always in park when this happens and it won't allow the navigation screen to turn off. The engine will turn off but the battery will drain due to the screen being constantly illuminated during this issue. Sometimes it can take up to 25 minutes to get this issue to resolve itself by restarting the engine, shifting to drive and then back to park, and then attempting to turn off the car over and over again. This issue occurs more often when going on short drives. |
