| Description of the problem | 2008 hyundai sonata with only 12,600 miles, while driving with 2 small children heard loud noise from back of car while taking a turn. Brought to dealer and was told needed new brake pads due to rust on the rotor. Didn't have them do the work as the cost was large. Brought to our own mechanic who showed us the left rear brake pad was down to metal but the right was normal small wear. He called hyundai dealer as this didn't seem normal to him either. Warranty only covers up to 12,000 miles so we were out of luck. Hyundai goes on in every commercial about safety and when i think of a car brakes are the most important safety feature there is. |
