| Description of the problem | Airbag light on driver's side dash illuminated. Took to mechanic; code read that it was the occupant sensor in the passenger seat (known issue) and covered by hyundai. Took car to hyundai dealer to have seat removed, shipped to california, for repair. Dealer states that airbag light will not go off once seat is replaced; it also needs clock spring assembly replaced. This, too, is a known/frequent issue with this age/make/model, however it's not covered by hyundai. Will cost $400 to replace. This is a safety issue and if it's occurring frequently enough to find numerous forums online with people complaining, it should be a covered/warrantied service performed by hyundai. Should not have to shell out $400 for repairs. Very upsetting! :( |
