| Description of the problem | While driving on city street at about 40 mph, a knocking sound was heard from the engine. After driving another 5 miles the noise became loader and the engine check light came on. Took the vehicle to the dealership (hyundai of cool springs, franklin, tn) for service. After several days was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. They found sludge and metal shavings inside the engine and oil pan. Hyundai was notified of the problem and denied the claim. The dealership changed the oil and told me i would have to pay for a new engine. Vehicle has approximately 68,000 miles. Still under warranty. Can no longer drive the car. |
