| Description of the problem | My 2014 santa fe sport has a strong gasoline odor in the cabin but it can also be smelled outside the car. The smell is the highest when the car is turned off and sits for a short time. The odor is so strong that the service tech had to get out of the car so the odor could dissipate. I have had it to the dealer twice to be looked at and they could not find an issue. They definitely could smell the odor when it was dropped off. They drove it for a short distance but i don't believe it was far enough for the problem to show up. This only seems to happen when the temperature is about 90 degrees or hotter. It has not been an issue since the temperatures have cooled down and it was not an issue when i bought it december 2017. It was real bad at times last summer. |
