Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2012 hyundai santa fe. The contact stated that while pulling into a parking space, she heard an abnormal banging sound coming from the engine with the check engine warning light illuminated. Upon inspection, the contact became aware that the rod bearing fractured and pierced through the engine block. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was left in the possession of the mechanic. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and offered no assistance.
