| Description of the problem | The fuel sensor/gauge reads as empty all the time no matter how much gas is in the tank, this includes after filling up. This causes the check engine light to come on as well. Although this is not a direct safety issue, after researching on line it is clear that this issue has been going on for several model years of this car. If you went by the number of complaints on this site, it might not look like much but an internet search would indicate otherwise. For some people this can be a safety issue due to problems when legitimately running out of gas on a major highway and in traffic without knowing the issue. The manufacturer should not be allowed to have this consistent and ongoing problem with no recourse. |
