Description of the problem	Air bag: the air bag light on the driver side instrument panel stays on and the passenger seat 'icon' flashes when no one is sitting in the passenger seat. At this time the "passenger air bag off" sign is also on. I first noticed this condition in the summer of 2007, however it only occurred one or two times so i thought it might be heat related as on the two days it happened it was extremely hot. I did not notice it all winter long, however once the weather started getting warm it started to happen again. Now it is happening on a weekly basis and lasts several days in a row. My mechanic has looked at it but has not been able to determine what the problem is. I am concerned as to what the status of my air bags is-- are they working or not. The date of the "incident" is the approximate date of the first time this occurred last summer but as i stated it is now happening on a regular basis.
