Description of the problemThe sdm (sensing and diagnostic module) on my 2005 hummer h2 is not working and is causing my air bags to not work, and also causes other modules to not be able to communicate and cause my gauges and other electrical accessories to not operate (windows, locks, etc.) many other hummer h2 owners are having this same problem. A new sdm would fix the issue, but gm for some reason has discontinued manufacturing this module. Why would gm stop making a safety related item for vehicles that are only arould 10 years old with many still on the road. So, now we must drive it with the air bags most likely not going to deploy in a crash.
