Description of the problem	Brake pedal was pushed in to shift from park to drive. With brake pedal still firmly depressed, as soon as vehicle was shifted into gear vehicle began to roll forward. Brake pedal felt very hard and whining noise was coming from engine compartment. Vehicle slowly stopped after driver's full body weight was put on pedal. There was nothing under the brake pedal and the brake fluid level was checked and found to be appropriate. Vehicle was left to run for a bit and was tested at low speeds. Problem went away as mysteriously as it arrived.
