| Description of the problem | Driver's side mirror blurry/shaking at highway speeds and any speed going over bumps; which causes some visibility concerns- increasing the risk of an accident when changing lanes. Noticed it day after purchase of new car. Dealer replaced just the mirror-did not fix problem, then dealer replaced the entire mirror assembly-did not fix problem, technician at dealer also test drove multiple new 2018 cr-v's on the lot and found the same problem on every car he drove. After much lobbying/begging(to the dealer and honda customer service) for the problem to be addressed/fixed, honda sent out a field engineer to evaluate, who test drove my car and 2 other new lot 2018 cr-v cars, found mirror vibration and blurriness in all cars with some variability. I was told that there is an acceptable level of vibration/blurriness, or "tolerance" expected, unable to fix the problem because it is considered within a tolerable range. Offered to replace my mirror assembly with another new car mirror on the lot which appeared to vibrate less(but still with some blurriness at times) which i did--some improvement but still see some mirror vibration/blurriness at highway speeds. Never had a new car where i am suppose to expect and tolerate some degree of driver side mirror blurriness. While its irritating and distracting, i believe it more importantly represents a significant safety hazard on the road; especially considering it appears to be a defect on many cars if not all 2018 honda cr-vs. **will send video of mirror at request. |
