Description of the problem	I own a 2018 crv purchased new in august 2018. While sitting at a stop light on a slightly drizzly, approximately 45-ish degree morning this week, i heard a loud bang/explosion followed by a slight crackling noise right over my head. I immediately pulled my sunroof shade shut and when i arrived at work (about a 1/2 mile down the road), i discovered that my sunroof had completely shattered. Because i pulled the shade closed, the glass did not fall in to the vehicle so there was no injury sustained. My route is one i do daily and does not include an overpass or overhangs. There was no indication that anything had been thrown/fallen on my roof. There is no other damage to the body/roof. I believe the sunroof spontaneously shattered. When i spoke with my honda dealer's service department, they transferred me to an outside body shop to repair out of pocket. When i spoke to the dealer's finance office about my warranty, they informed me that no glass repair is covered under my warranty or extended warranty and that i needed to submit under my comprehensive car insurance. My insurance did ultimately cover the damage although they were reluctant as they felt it was a manufacturers defect.
