| Description of the problem | I was driving 40mph on a city street it was a sunny 83 degree day with no one in front of me when my crv slammed on the brakes by itself. The speedometer turned orange and said "brake". The collision mitigation braking system falsely detected something in front of me when there was nothing. We jerked to a stop, the vehicle behind almost hitting us. My son, dog, and i were extremely scared. I brought my vehicle into my honda dealership and they said the sensor was a little off but they could not find any other reason that the cmbs would malfunction? I've read online that this has been a huge issue with 2017 and 2018 honda crv's equipped with this feature and honda has not done a recall but there is a class action lawsuit out of california. |
