| Description of the problem | The engine oil is being diluted with gasoline due to a faulty engine design by honda. We first noticed a strong gas odor in the cabin in october 2018. We bought the car to the dealer in nov 2018, they noted the problem and did an oil change. Honda released tsb 18-114 in dec 2018 to address the problem. I brought my cr-v to the dealer on 01/03/2019 and they applied the fix per tsb 18-114. However 3 weeks later, i noticed gasoline still diluting the engine oil. I bought the car back and they did an oil change on 01/30/2019 (for free) and advised to come back in 1,000 miles to check the oil again. I am afraid honda has no real fix for this issue and this constant dilution with lead to long term engine damage and possible other side effects like stalling. |
