| Description of the problem | While driving at highway speed (60mph) on a sunny but not hot day (45 deg.) we heard a loud bang like something hit the roof of the car. There was no other traffic in the area and we did not pass under any overpass. Upon inspection of the car after stopping, we saw the sunroof had a large hole (6-8 inches) and appeared to have exploded from the inside, since the broken area was bulging up. We submitted a claim with our insurance carrier, and was told we would have to pay the $100 deductible. We expect to get the damaged sunroof replaced next week when the glass is available. The glass store put a sheet of cling plastic over the hole for temporary closure. |
