Description of the problem	I was driving my 2011 honda cr-v last night and was slowing to take an exit off of a freeway. It felt as though the brakes were failing as i was having to step on them really hard to slow down. As i approached the stoplight at the end of the exit ramp, i felt as though i was not going to stop. I put the cr-v in neutral and heard the engine rev really hard and saw the tachometer reading jump over to 5000 rpm. Within seconds, the engine slowed back down to idle speed and i managed to drive the last mile to my home without incident.
