Description of the problemSeveral months ago, i noticed that the lock on the right front passenger's side door of my 2007 honda cr-v would engage and disengage while i was driving. The lock shifted every time i came to a stop sign or traffic light, then would continue to unlock and re-lock every time i went above/below 15 mph. When i put the car in park, however, the lock would re-engage and the car would remain locked. Now the lock on this door does not lock at all, regardless of whether the car is in motion. The lock also does not lock when the car is in park. The remote lock does not work, even though the horn beeps and the locks attempt to engage as if the vehicle doors were all locked and remain locked. This morning (july 1, 2013) the back rear passenger's side door began to have the same problem. I had previously mentioned this issue during a service appointment, at which time a honda-certified technician at lehigh valley honda told me that he had "never heard of this problem" and it would "probably just click back into place." i later made mention of the same problem during my inspection two weeks ago, but they did not have time to investigate the issue that day. I just spoke with the same location and have an appointment for july 5 to see if they can "diagnose" the problem. The manager told me he didn't want to "diagnose this over the phone" but insist they give the vehicle a complete workup -- which i am fine with, so long as i am not being charged for labor. This seems like a very real safety issue, as door locks that become disengaged while the car is moving would put anyone in fear of having small children or pets in the back seat. I hope honda sees it necessary to issue a recall and fix the actuator, which is what seems to be the chief complaint among over cr-v owners.
