Description of the problem	The vsa and abs lights on my 2006 cr-v came on upon starting and stayed on until the engine was stopped. This happened every time the car was started. My honda dealership diagnosed the problem to be a faulty abs modulator unit. The stated replacement cost is $2,400, including labor. I feel that this defect is essential in ensuring the overall safety of this car. The weight of the car is significant enough that an uncontrolled skid is much more likely to end in disaster than a skid that is stopped with the vsa and abs function working properly. Living in central ohio, the abs and vsa functions are used frequently - especially in the winter. These key safety features were a top priority in my decision to buy this car. While the car's life expectancy is touted to be around 300,000 miles, it is unforgivable for such a significant safety function to fail at only 102,000 miles. I feel that honda should recall these cars and replace the vsa modulator unit entirely at honda's expense. And for those of us who have already paid for the repair - reimburse the full amount of the repair! The car without vsa and abs is not at all the same "as advertised" when sold new!
