Description of the problem | This is a problem in the rear differential system in honda crv 4-wheel drive model made between 2002 and 2007. After about every one and a half years, the differential fluid becomes so much contaminated that the whole vehicle starts to shake. According to the vehicle's owner manual, the differential fluid only needs to be changed every 5 years or 90,000 miles. Obviously the differential fluid becomes dirty too soon. When this happens, it is difficult to make a turn. I consider it unsafe. As i know, it is the problem to all vehicles of the same model not only my car. So i think it is a design problem. In my case, the rear differential system had to be reflushed three times and the rear differential clutches had to be burnish as well. Luckily, no injury so far. |
