| Description of the problem | Dt: the consumer owns a 2005 honda crv. The honda crv's have been prone to catching fire after oil changes and he has seen other complaints for this problem on the nhtsa website for the 2003 and 2004. He had his oil changed on 6-21-05 and his vehicle caught on fire on 6-23-05. While driving he stopped and looked back and he saw a trail of fuel for about 100 yards and 1ft and half wide until the vehicle stopped. The fire occurred in the engine compartment. The fire was first noticed from the engine compartment. There was no unusual activity noticed before the fire started. He thinks this might have been a fuel fire the fire department and police department suspected the same type of fire. *jb |
