Description of the problem	Suddenly, when braking, the pedal went almost all the way to the floor and braking was effected by using the emergency brake. After some trouble shooting determined that it was the brake proportioning valve and brake lines that had gotten so rusty here in vermont and due to its designed exposure that they failed. All at once, not gradually. The agency that repaired my damage said that a 2003 crv failed the state inspection due to rusty frame damage. The nhtsa should specify that brake lines and fittings should be made of stainless or brass. I have heard stories from many saying that they had to replace brake lines.
