Description of the problemI was driving a new 2004 honda cr-v, stopped at a stop sign and then turned left onto a one way street. I saw an suv in front of me and applied the brakes. Nothing happened. I hit the vehicle in the rear. That vehicle was knocked forward. I applied the brakes again. Nothing happened. I hit the vehicle again in the rear. The air bags deployed. I yanked my vehicle to the right, and stepped on the brakes again. Nothing happened. I was finally able to straighten and stop the vehicle by pulling as hard as i could on the parking brake--and even then, i had to pull it twice, as far down as i could get it. The other driver wasn't injured and her vehicle had damage on the rear side. My left knee hit the dash and my hands hit the wheel and dash--sustaining some injury, and my right arm was burned by the air bag. My vehicle was totalled. The mechanic who looked at my honda said that he couldn't tell for certain if the brakes had failed, or if the throttle was stuck full open prior to the accident. After the accident, the throttle was stuck full open.*ak
