| Defect summary | On certain motorcycles, the throttle cables come into contact with the tunnel portion of the fuel tank. |
| Consequence summary | In this condition, the cables could eventually wear through the tank, causing a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. |
| Corrective action | Dealers will inspect the cable and tank, reposition the cable and, if necessary, repair or replace the tank and/or cables free of charge. The recall began on october 31, 2005. Owners may contact harley-davidson at 1-414-343-4056. |
