Description of the problemJust driving down the road about 35 or 40 miles per hour and all of a sudden the oil pressure light comes on and the motor starts knocking like hell sounded like if the motor was just going to blow up between my legs im very glad that i'm a skilled rider if i wasn't i could have wrecked i shut it off admittedly. I'm bring it to a shop but i got on a couple internet sites and seen that other riders had the same experience and they said its the oil pump in the 2005 dyna wide glides something to do with the pick up tube or the pump it's self when a individual spends the type of money on a recreational vehicle it should endure more than just putting down the road new it cost $16,000. 00 dollars and to replace the engine is about 6 or 7 thousand dollars i just thought they might have been investigating it since i saw it on the net of other riders saying the same thing as i just explained as many places that i saw it you would think harley as many as they sell you would think they would tell you to bring your bike in to change out the bad pump before it blew the motor so there would be no bad talk about there engines but why tell the consumers if it's going to make them more for selling a motor verses selling a cheap oil pump it really sucks cause im disabled and live on a fixed income so if i have to replace the engine i will not be riding for a couple of years 6 thousand verses a little $150 part plus labor that is a damned big difference well thanks for letting me vent and hope you look into the matter.
