 Description of the problemMultiple failures on a harley-davidson electra glide classic motorcycle are being reported in this complaint. 1. Rear brake light failure due to rear wheel rubbing against wire harness located inside rear fender well. Wiring insulation was destroyed and wiring was damaged to the point of being inoperable. Wiring harness part number 68772-06 2. Rear brake light failure due to faulty brake light switch. Brake switch part number 72023-51. This switch was replaced with a version e. The original switch was superseded by a version -a, -b, -c, -d and now -e. 3. Ignition switch failure causing various lighting failures which could only be resolved by pulling main fuse on the electrical system. Ignition switch part number 71572-06. 4. Primary transmission seal leaks (various) allowing fluid to run along bottom of motor and frame and come into contact with rear tire during operation. The seals which fail are part numbers 12045 (shifter shaft seal) and 12052a (inner primary oil seal). The third seal is the stator output seal. 5. Front engine mount failure which causes excessive engine vibration and unstable handling issues, and failure of the rear exhaust pipe causing unacceptable sounds levels. Front motor mount part number 16207-79d (4th revision on engine mount) and rear exhaust pipe part number 65626-98c (3rd revision on rear exhaust pipe). 6. Gear shifter rod failure causing the rider to lose transmission shifting between gears during motorcycle operation. Rod assembly part number 33759-99b. 7. Tour pack luggage latch failures allowing lid on tour pack to open during operation and contents to be released. Latch part number 90649-95
