| Description of the problem | The shift linkage rod that connects the foot shift lever to the transmission shift rod lever had the splines stripped which meant that when i was coming to a stop i was no longer in control of the motorcycle because i could not shift gears. The motorcycle was nearly brand new, having less than 15k miles on it, and it has been properly maintained. All torque values were correct and the linkage rod was replaced once i was able to get the motorcycle to a dealer. Part number 15 where it connects to part number 16 in the attached document. |
