| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford freestar. While driving 25 mph, an abnormal metallic sound emitted from the front end of the transmission. The contact stated that after taking off from a stop sign, the vehicle transmission failed. The vehicle was still running but was unable to move anywhere. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque converter output shaft needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
