| Description of the problem | My 2005 ford freestar minivan while backing out of a driveway stop working. The van would not go into drive or reverse. We had the van towed to the local ford dealership. The torque converter broke. This happened suddenly and with no warning. We were lucky it was in a drive way and not on a highway or in a busy intersection. I have come to find out this is a common problem with freestar minivans. The van needs to be recalled and this problem needs to be fixed on all freestars before someone is killed. The ford freestar is unsafe and ford needs to fix this problem. |
