Description of the problem	2004 ford freestar, back liftgate. A design flaw allows rainwater or water from a car washing) to seep in, accumulate, and puddle all around the latch mechanism of the back lift gate. This causes it to freeze on icy days which causes difficulty opening or closing the back liftgate. Eventually, the latch mechanism rusts out completely and has to be replaced. This is an obvious design flaw.
