| Description of the problem | Without any warning, the transmission stopped working on an average drive to wal-mart. While driving in traffic using the cruise control, the engine speed increased and engine seemed separated from transmission (no power to wheels). The van coasted into nearest parking lot and was towed to sanders ford in jacksonville nc. The dealership is currently working on the transmission, but doesn't know if our extended warranty will cover it! This failure came with no warning during good weather on a short drive. 2004 ford freestar with 62000 miles. This is unsatisfactory reliability and is a safety hazard. |
