| Description of the problem | 2004 ford freestar, 70,983 miles, regularly serviced. I was stopped at a stop sign, went to accelerate and the van went about 30 feet and the transmission failed, then engine revved as if it were in neutral. There was no power or engagement of the transmission in either forward gears or reverse. There was no prior warning/signs of potential issues with the transmission or drive train. Fortunately, i was able to coast to a sidestreet and put my family out of harms way. |
