| Description of the problem | 1. My wife was backing out of a parking space and the van would not go backward or foreword any more. 2. This failure was catastrophic causing the vehicle to be immobile. Fortunately it occurred in a parking lot and not on the highway in heavy traffic. Vehicle was towed to shop where it was determined that the torque converter failed damaging the front pump. 3. Transmission was completely cleaned and rebuilt and a rebuilt torque converter was installed. Old part was exchanged for rebuilt one. The mileage of the vehicle was 68845. |
