 Description of the problemTl* the contact owns a 2004 ford freestar. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, the vehicle stalled without warning. There was an abnormal increase in engine rpms and the contact continuously pumped the accelerator pedal. In addition, the contact could feel the transmission failing and causing the vehicle to become sluggish when accelerating. The contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 12v006000, (power train:automatic transmission:torque converter). The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the contact was denied recall repairs because she was advised that the transmission would had to completely fail before it could be repaired under the recall campaign.
