| Description of the problem | With 51,000 miles on my 2004 ford freestar the transmission simply failed while traveling 70 mph on the interstate. Vehicle basically slipped into neutral and coasted to a stop on the shoulder. Gears would no longer engage and had to be towed to the ford dealership. Dealership blames a faulty torque converter and wants $1,600. 00 in repairs. |
