Description of the problemGas pedal & brake pedal are to close i have a 2006 ford 500 being on a police dept and reading the news paper and radio you will hear where people have trouble hitting the gas pedal and not the brake pedal. After getting rid of my older ford pick up and ford crown vic i had no problem with, i bought a new 2006 ford 500. Then i found out that when i wear walking shoes, and move my foot from the gas pedal to the brake, it was caught under the brake pedal and gas pedal, and to move it you will hit the gas pedal and the car will move before you can hit the brake again. I have talked to other people with different make of cars also who said they had the same problem with their car while wearing summer sandals and my shoes type. It seems that this may be one reason why you hear so much of this happening to people now days, and that is, the gas & brake pedal are to close to one another.
