| Description of the problem | With 21,000 miles on truck i experienced uncontrollable steering wheel oscillations after hitting an expansion gap joint on highway. I took the truck to dealer and they inspected and replaced steering dampener. Now with 32,000 miles on truck same exact issue after hitting bumps in road and expansion gaps on road on multiple occasions. Took truck back to dealer and the service tech ordered another steering dampener on back order. I took my truck to an independent mechanic ase certified and he informed me there was some play at the drag link where the pitman arm meets the knuckle. Ford now has my truck again and i was informed they could find nothing wrong with the truck and could not duplicate the oscillations. My truck now has 34,650 miles on it and the problem still is not fixed. |
