Description of the problem	The truck seemed to be running out of gas, surged, sputter, surge sputtered then quit running. I had 1/2 a tank. Had to cost the truck a crossed speeding traffic lanes and came to a stop on an over pass. Had the truck towed to the dealer. The dealer findings were a problem with the fuel pump and controller. The dealer stated when they enter the check engine code (p0627) into their wan, they shortly had a call from ford engineering wanting the parts returned to them and with instructions not to replace them with the same part number. It seems this was a known issue and had been flagged in their network by ford engineering. It seems this issue was unknown by the dealership. It bothers me greatly that this issue is known by ford engineering but the dealers are selling new trucks with this known defect. The new truck has sat at the dealer for three weeks because the controller part is not available.
