Description of the problem	My husband was driving on hwy 77 in va on october 25, 2018 when he accidentally ran into the back of a tri-axle dump truck going at a slower speed. Upon impact something under the hood immediately burst into flames and the fire quickly spread. The side impact air bags did not deflate and my husband struggle to get the driver door open. Fortunately my husband was able to get out of the truck with the help of the dump truck driver pulling on the outside of the truck door. The fire quickly spread to the cab of the truck and the aluminum melted away. He lost everything that was in the cab of his truck and some things in the bed of the truck. He was pulling an enclosed trailer with tools and equipment and the fire spread to the trailer and damaged/destroyed some tools until the fire department was able to extinguish the flames. I have attached a picture of the burning truck for your reference. I also have pictured of the truck remains. I wouldn't be as concerned about this but this same thing happened to him earlier this year when he was involved in another front end collision, in a 2018 ford f-250 sd truck. That truck also caught on fire the same way and ended up burning up completely. I have pictures of the remains of this vehicle as well. Told the car dealer and they gave us a number to call ford and tell them. My husband called ford and all they did was log the complaint and gave him a case number.
