| Description of the problem | Any time i get on the interstate pulling my 7000 gvw trailer, the check engine light comes on. The code is always the same, under/over boost and then you limp along for a few miles and it will start working again. During this time it's hard to maintain a constant speed. The check engine light will come on within 10-15 miles of highway use at around 60 - 65 mph. Every owner that i talk to that has the 6. 0 litre diesel tells me that they all do this and the only way to fix it is to install a egr delete kit at around $1,200. 00. This will cure the problem but will pollute the air more. It's just a bad design and ford's not going to do anything about it unless the nhtsa steps in. |
