 Description of the problemTl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f-250 superduty. The contact stated when he shifted into cruise control at 70 mph, he then noticed that the speed was increasing. He attempted to deactivate the cruise control but the vehicle would not slow down. He also attempted to apply the brakes which had no effect on the speed. He then drove onto the emergency lane and pumped the brakes until the vehicle slowed down. He also shifted into park, shut the vehicle off and called the dealership. The service manager advised him to restart the vehicle which appeared to function normally; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle driven to an authorized dealership but the dealer could not diagnose or duplicate the failure; there were also no failure codes produced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer who recorded the failure in their database. The current mileage was approximately 61,000. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.
