| Description of the problem | The truck was set on cruise control when i accelerated to pass a moving vehicle on a freeway. The truck would not stop accelerating when i removed my foot from the gas pedal; i had to break hard to control the speed. As soon as i removed my foot from the break, the car engine revved up again and quickly accelerated from 70 to 96 mph even though i was not touching the gas pedal. When i stopped the vehicle and put the truck in park, the engine continued to idle at a high speed. The diagnostic reader produced the error code "p068a - ecm/pcm power relay de-energized performance - too early". I took the truck to the dealership and they were able to reproduce the problem. To fix the issue, a new battery was installed. |
