Description of the problem	While driving in the rain i had stopped at an intersection. I turned a corner and accelerated to merge into traffic. The rear wheels spun excessively, causing the vehicle to 'fish-tail' and creating a dangerous situation me and adjacent vehicles. The traction control system was on but did not engage, no indicator lights illuminated on the dash to show it engaged or had an error. The same day i took the vehicle to jim tidwell ford, and rode with the shop foreman on a demo ride to mirror the situation. The shop foreman agreed the traction control should have engaged. However, after running diagnostics the service department said the vehicle was within specification. For comparison, i mentioned that the traction control on the f-250 model works much better, which they agreed was a known inconsistency. The f-150 traction control is ineffective and causes an unsafe driving situation in wet conditions.
